He did not have a long career, but he had the opportunity to demonstrate his talent, especially as co-writer of “El crack cero”, along with José Luis Garci. Javier Muñoz died at the age of 54, without the causes being revealed, according to one of the protagonists of the film, Miguel Ángel Muñoz. “I have learned a lot from you, from the life of the cinema and how to take care of friends,” the actor wrote.

Born in Madrid on October 11, 1967, Javier Muñoz started late in the audiovisual field. He was already 38 years old when he wrote Next Week (without fail) and  Atasco en la nacional , directed by Josetxo San Mateo . It was followed by Like Shooting Stars , by Anna Di Francisca.

In 2015,  Javier Muñoz debuted as a director with Sicarivs: La noche y el silencio , a promising thriller, despite its low budget. Víctor Clavijo plays  Toni, who earns his living as a contract killer. He’s tasked with taking out a lawyer’s pregnant wife, but when he’s in front of her, for some reason he can’t shoot her like he planned. He is aware that not finishing the job means that his clients will take it out of the way…

As a result of that film, he meets José Luis Garci . ” Javier Muñoz came to my radio program, with the actor Víctor Clavijo , when they premiered Sicarivs: The night and the silence “, recalls the Asturian. “They were the ones who encouraged me to bring Germán Areta back to life, so I ended up recruiting them for the film. In fact, Clavijo was going to be the detective, but later he had to face a long shoot for the television series Hernán , and he represents the play “Lehman Brothers”, so it could not be. Muñoz wrote the script with me”. The film explains the origins of German Areta, who leaves the police force and starts working as a detective, during the Transition.

Javier Muñoz also co -wrote Reinas , the ambitious series produced by José Luis Moreno in 2017, about María Estuardo and her relationship with Elizabeth I of England. Like everything that surrounds the ventriloquist and businessman, it created great controversy, because he sold it as a BBC co-production, convinced Televisión Española to invest 3 million euros for the filming, and it went unnoticed at its premiere.
