Jason Segel
He rose to fame for his television characters and revalidated his pull in the cinema with “Paso de ti”. Jason Segel has been determined to ensure that the general public does not pass him by in a good season and also works on occasion as a screenwriter.
Son of a lawyer and a housewife, Jason Jordan Segel was born on January 18, 1980, in Los Angeles (California). Passionate about basketball, he was part of the high school team, with which he won a state championship. He also likes music and learned to play the piano.
He began his career with small roles in I Can’t Wait Anymore and The Escape Clause , and soon became one of the leads in the series Freaks and Geeks , which was barely accepted and was canceled after 18 episodes. However, Segel earned the admiration of executive producer Judd Apatow , who would become a key figure in his career.
His work in Freaks and Geeks liked Carter Bays and Craig Thomas , creators of the comedy How I Met Your Mother , who decided to give him one of the leading roles. His character as Marshall Eriksen, good-natured law student, faithful fiancé of a shopaholic, made him a huge celebrity.
As the series was catching on, Apatow recruited him as a supporting role in the comedy Embarrassing Mess , and supported him by producing Step of You , starring and written by Segel himself. He played Peter Bretter, a musician struggling to get over his breakup with his girlfriend. Shortly after, he was the apparently ideal “friend” of the protagonist of I love you, uncle .
Segel continues to shoot movies at a good pace while the series How I Met Your Mother continues to be successful. He played Horatio, a Lilliputian commoner in love with the princess, who helps Jack Black in Gulliver’s Travels . He leads the cast of the comedies Jeff Who Lives at Home and Bad Teacher , and we’ll see him surrounded by Muppets in The Muppets , which he’ll star in as well as write the screenplay.
