Jason Patric is an artist with a long history and some quality intervention on the big screen, although he has never stood out. Throughout his long career he has combined action and drama feature films, his favorites.

He was born in the humble neighborhood of Queens, New York on June 17, 1966 and holds dual American and Irish citizenship. Already as a child his future was linked to acting, as it was difficult to foresee another vocation when his parents, Linda and Jason, were actors and his grandfather was comedian Jackie Gleason . Jason was not deprived of anything, as he went to the luxurious and well-known Don Bosco Preparatory High School; and his debut in the entertainment world was made at just nineteen years old in the telefilm Amor difículo . Just two years later, Patric already had a leading role in the cult film Hidden Youth , a supernatural vampire thriller where he coincided with one of his good friends, Kiefer Sutherland .

In the years to come, Jason chose to try all kinds of genres: the war in The Beast of War (1988), a pleasant action film set in the struggle between the USSR and Afghanistan; the fantastic terror in  The Resurrection of Frankenstein ; in 1990 he came to experiment in independent cinema with the drama Denial , along with a young Robin Wright ; and to close the cycle the western with  Geronimo, a legend .

His particular and short golden age was about to arrive. In 1996 Jason Patric shared shots with a rich cast of famous actors including Kevin Bacon , Robert De Niro , Dustin Hoffman and a young Brad Pitt . Sleepers was a hit with critics and audiences alike. It tells the raw and heartbreaking story of a group of friends who, upon being locked up in a juvenile facility, receive a series of abuses from the jailers that will mark them for life. Just one year later, Patric was the protagonist of Speed 2 , the sequel to the famous film from the early 90s that once again featured Sandra Bullock. The fiasco of the tape was enormous, although Jason knew how to recover and the following year he was back in action with an acid comedy about the fight of the sexes: Friends & Neighbors .

Another of his best-received films was the action thriller Narc , about the investigation of a murdered police officer. In the early years of the 21st century, his participation in renowned projects completely vanished, titles such as Shortcut to Happiness , El Alamo: The Legend or Walker Payne assure it. Although in 2007 he landed a role in In the Valley of Elah , a drama by Paul Haggis , Oscar winner for  Crash , which tells of a man’s investigations into his missing son. Two years after the good acceptance of the film, Patric embarked on a Nick Cassavetes drama to cry his eyes out, Anne’s decision , a hard story about a girl’s illness that makes the viewer reflect on different aspects of life.

His last years of career have not improved and have left the New York actor as a second. He has focused on action feature films without much luck. Losers , The Foreigner or The Prince are his last assaults on the genre.
