Jason Gilkison is an Australian choreographer and creative director, best known as a choreographer for television shows Superstars of Dance (2009), So You Think You Can Dance (2008-2009), BBC Proms (2016) and as a judge on So You Think That you can dance tv show from 2010 to 2013. In 2014 he became a judge on the 4th season of So You Think You Can Dance Australia tv series and stayed in that position until the Grand Final at the end of the year. Jason was also known as the creative director of choreography for a popular dance reality TV game show Must Dancefrom 2016 to 2018, as well as its sister documentary TV series titled Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2013 to 2018.
Before achieving international success, he and his dance partner Peta Roby were unbeaten Australian Latin American dance champions from 1981 to 1997, as well as World, British and International champions during those years. In 2001, Jason became Artistic Director and choreographer for Burn the Floor , a live dance show that performs on stages worldwide, as well as well-known theaters such as Longacre Theater on Broadway, Shaftsbury Theater in London and many others.

- His grandparents owned Perth’s Ballroom Dance Studio, the first of its kind in Australia, and Jason trained there when he was young.
- His first dance partner was Peta Roby, with whom he started dancing when he was 7 years old.
- As well as being unbeaten Australian Latin champions for 16 years, Jason and Peta were also named Young Australian of the Year from 1981 to 1997, with an award in 1991.
- In 1991 the couple became resident teachers at various prestigious ballroom schools in London, England, remaining there until 1998, training many of the young dancers of the time.
- Jason received the Australian Sports Medal on September 29, 2000 for outstanding contribution and service to dancing.

It was intended to be a 6 week engagement project but due to the popularity of Jason’s choreography on the show, they instead appeared for 8 months, twice breaking the theater’s box office record during that time.
