“American Pie” catapulted him to success in 1999. And now, as if we were talking about the myth of eternal return, it seems that Jason Biggs only finds in the reissues of that cinematographic origin the salvation table for a career that has progressively stagnated. Renew or die is his dilemma.

The son of a nurse and a manager of a shipping company, Jason Biggs was born on May 12, 1978 in New Jersey (United States). Descendant of Italians and English, he began acting at the early age of five, thanks to his appearances in different spots nationwide. A seasoned athlete, he even went on to win a state wrestling title during his senior year in high school.

In 1991, he was part of the sitcom Drexell’s Class , but this was already canceled in the first season. That same year, she made her Broadway debut with “Conversations with My Father”, where she had the legendary Judd Hirsch as a co-star . That apparition served him well. So much so as to lead him to participate in the serial As the World Turns , which has been on the air from 1956 to 2010, and which tells of the relationships and difficulties suffered by the inhabitants of the fictional town of Oakdale. For this role he was nominated at the Emmy Awards, in the category of Best Young Actor.

After graduating from high school in 1996, he studied first at New York University, and then at Montclair State University in New Jersey. However, her true vocation would not be found in academic books, but in those of scripts. In 1997, she co -starred in Camp Stories , another television series. This would be the prelude to the storm of flattery, box office noise and fame that came only two years later.

The premiere of American Pie (1999), that irreverent and cliché-filled comedy made by and for teenagers, was a resounding success. His performance as Jim Levenstein surprised the public and critics and that led him to be able to choose new roles and characters. But he chose wrong. His next appearances would be in A Lucky Loser (2000) and Boys and Girls (2000), two romantic comedies that went unnoticed. Woody Allen , with Everything Else (2003), was not able to rescue him from the typecasting that he was beginning to suffer.

The loop of records on the screen followed this marked course, inevitably adhering to the same type of films. Marry Me (2006), in which she co-starred with Isla Fisher ; o A girlfriend for two (2008), where she formed a love triangle with Dane Cook and Kate Hudson , were another example of the unstoppable derailment.

Between participation and participation in different episodes of television series, Biggs did not miss the opportunity to take part in two of the sequels to American Pie . 2003 had been the last year in which he donned the Jim Levenstein suit, until, in 2012, he opted to recover it from the trunk of memories to star again in American Pie: the reunion . Like a prodigal son who returns to his beginnings, Jason Biggs has relied on the comic saga that completely shaped him. Now that path has come to its irremediable end, and it is time for his career to try to relaunch towards other types of heights different from those tasted to date.
