- In 1997 he was selected by the Edmonton Ice as the first overall pick in the WHL Bantam Draft.
- In February 2006, he set the record for becoming the first Edmonton Oilers player to win 21 of 22 games with a winning percentage of 95.45.
- In September 2008, he joined the Los Angeles Kings after signing a lucrative four-year deal worth $14.4 million. He resigned four years later on a three-year, $9.75 million contract.
- From 2006 to 2011 he hosted the annual charity tournament in Saskatoon. Proceeds from the tournament went to the Jarret Stoll Comfort Fund.
- In 2015, Stoll was arrested by Las Vegas police authorities for bringing ecstasy and cocaine to his hotel. Later in June he pleaded guilty to two charges.
- He had to enter the NHL Entry Draft twice because he couldn’t agree on the deal with the Calgary Flames after his pick in 2000. In his second draft in 2002, he was selected by Edmonton Oilers as a 36- th select.
- Under the 2000 draft, the Calgary Flames had agreed a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but it didn’t materialize because the required documents could not be faxed before the deadline.
