Jamie Foxx ‘Not Himself’ as He Slowly Recovers After Hospitalization
Jamie Foxx is “still not himself” after suffering a mysterious “medical complication” in April, according to a report.
The 54-year-old actor was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles for several days after experiencing “severe abdominal pain.” The exact nature of his illness has not been revealed, but sources say that he is still recovering and is “not back to his old self yet.”
Foxx’s hospitalization forced him to cancel several upcoming appearances, including a performance at the BET Awards. He has also been absent from social media since the incident.
The Oscar and Grammy winner reportedly remains slow to recover amid his ongoing health scare — though no exact details about his condition have been released at this time.
“He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself,” a source told People. “He has the tightest circle around him.”
The health update comes just hours after the actor’s “They Cloned Tyrone” co-star John Boyega revealed the 55-year-old “finally picked up” the phone after many attempts at reaching him.
“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” the “Star Wars” actor told People at the Hollywood premiere of his and Foxx’s new film, “They Cloned Tyrone,” on Tuesday.
“He’s doing well. And then, you know, we [are] just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return,” Boyega, 31, shared.
In a recent interview, Foxx’s manager, Allison Wofford, said that the actor is “taking it easy” and is “focused on his health.” She added that he is “grateful for the support of his fans and friends.”
Foxx is one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. He has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He is also known for his roles in the films “Ray,” “Django Unchained,” and “Baby Driver.”
It is unclear when Foxx will be able to return to work. However, his manager said that he is “looking forward to getting back to his normal life.”
