Jamie Dimon is an American billionaire businessman and famous personality. He is widely recognized as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the largest of the Big Four US banks, JPMorgan Chase. Since 2005 he has worked for the bank and before that he worked with Bank One which merged with JP Morgan Chase in 2004.

JAMIE DIMON: BIO, FAMILY, EDUCATION

The businessman was born on March 13, 1956 in New York, United States. He is one of three sons of Greek immigrants, Theodore and Themos Dimon. He grew up with his older brother Peter and a fraternal twin brother Ted. Dimon attended Browning School, then graduated summa cum laude with a major in psychology and economics from Tufts University

After his studies, he worked for two years in management consulting. After that, he attended Harvard Business School and earned an MBA as a Baker Scholar in 1982. During summer vacations, he worked at Goldman Sachs. After graduating, he chose to work as an assistant at American Express rather than Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers at the suggestion of Sandy Weill.

In 1985, he left American Express with Sandy Weill and then took over Commercial Credit, a consumer credit company, from Control Data. Dimon served as CFO when he was 30 years old. He formed with Weill a large financial services conglomerate, Citigroup in 1998 and left the company in November 1998.

In March 2000, Dimon became CEO of the country’s fifth largest bank, Bank One. But in July 2004, JPMorgan Chase bought the bank, and after that Dimon became the company’s president and chief operating officer. In 2005, he was promoted to CEO of JPMorgan Chase, then appointed chairman and president on December 31, 2006. Since then, he has held the position of JP Morgan Chase.

He married a beautiful lady Judith Ellen Kent in 1983 and the same year he announced their engagement via The New York Times. Judith is from Bethesda, Maryland, and is the daughter of the president of an insurance and real estate company in Rockville. Additionally, the couple first met in Cambridge while studying at Harvard School in the early 1980s.

They are parents to three adult daughters: Julia (1985), Laura (1987) and Kara (1989). Her Daughters: Julia and Kara both attended Duke University while Laura attended Barnard College for her undergraduate studies. Apart from that, she was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and received eight weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the same year. Additionally, he underwent heart surgery at the age of 63 in March 2020. JP Morgan’s spokesperson announced that he recovered well from the surgery.
