James entered the Army delay program where he reaches the level of Sergeant. Ramsey was honorably discharged after 6 years of service in the US Army. When he got home he was met with an accident.
During James’ accident, he broke his pelvis and cut half of his leg. In said accident he left him with multiple injuries to his leg only. But, he never gives up hope of living his life on his condition.
After living his life as an amputee, he joined Portland’s Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts for 18 months to earn an associate’s degree. Ramsey graduated with honors from the university. He also participated in a vocational welding course at Portland Community College.
