His face is familiar to moviegoers from titles like “Teen Wolf, Hair on Chest.” James Hampton died at the age of 84 on Wednesday, April 7, at his residence in Forth Worth, Texas, as a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Born on July 9, 1936 in Oklahoma City (Oklahoma), James Wade Hampton –his full name– majored in theater arts at the University of North Texas in Denton. After serving in the military, and a series of jobs to get by, including bodyguard, waiter and photojournalist, he moved to New York, where he made his acting debut in the Oscar-nominated short The Cliffdwellers . With his great friend of him Burt Reynolds he intervened in a chapter of the series Gunsmoke . He also appeared with him in the feature film El rompehuesos , from 1974.
Among James Hampton ‘s numerous secondary works are The Cat Who Came From Space , The China Syndrome , Crazy Police Academy 5. Operation Miami Beach and The Other Side of Life . He played the father of Michael J. Fox in Teen Wolf, where he explained to the protagonist that everyone in the family turned into werewolves. He was the only actor to reprise in the sequel Teen Wolf 2 .
Divorced from the actress Carole Simpson ( The Saint ), with whom he had two children, James Hampton joined the also interpreter Mary Deese ( Two very smokey hangouts: Escape from Guantánamo ).
