JAMB 2019: Only 34,734 Out of 436,799 Applicants Offered Admission to Medicine
JAMB has published the statistics of the 2019 UTME by faculty. Of the 436,799 applicants that applied for Medicine, only 34,734 were offered admission.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published the statistics of quota, application and admission for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The statistics, which was ordered according to faculties across Nigeria Universities, was disclosed at the 2020 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Tuesday.
As expected, the candidates that applied into the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health Sciences top the list with 436,799 applicants.

However, only 34,734 were offered admission. This makes up for 7.95% of the total number of candidates that applied for admission in the faculty.

Unfortunately, the approved admission quota for Medicine in Nigerian institutions is 30,111.
