After appearing at the local events and musicals, Jai McDowall managed to break into it by winning the popular reality show, Britain’s Got Talent. And he had to beat the odds to win the show. Known for
Won the 5th season of the reality TV show, Britain’s Got Talent. In 2011, he received an appearance at the Royal Variety Performance as a prize for his victory. He also received the £100,000 cash prize.

In December 2011 he released his debut studio album, Believe . The album did not achieve major commercial success, but did manage to enter the top 20 of the Scottish Albums Chart.

- Before deciding to audition for Britain’s Got Talent, he worked as a laborer in his hometown of Tarbolton.
- He has worked extensively in musical theater and has been cast in roles such as “Motel” in Geiger on the Roof and Frank in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers .
- While vacationing in the United States in 2009, he decided to audition for The American Idol Experience . He went on to win the show.
- In 2010, he decided to audition for The X Factor . In 2010, he made it into the boot camp round but couldn’t find a spot on the live shows.
- He spoke before Britain’s Got Talent in Liverpool and decided to perform Anthem by Chess. He received a “yes” from all three judges.

- In May 2012, he became embroiled in a minor controversy after a journalist misrepresented his comments and reported that Jai had called Cowell anti-Scottish. The report led to Cowell defending himself by revealing that his mother is Scottish and he also expressed his disappointment with Jai.
- In April 2017, it was revealed that he had surgical procedures on a deviated septum. He later found that the mucus from his stuffy nose regularly caused a sore throat and affected his voice.
