Jack kehoe
He accumulated outstanding feature films in his filmography, especially in the 70s, and worked with big stars. Supporting actor Jack Kehoe passed away on January 14, 2020, at the age of 85, at his Hollywood Hills residence.
Born on November 21, 1934, in the New York borough of Queens, Jack Kehoe served for three years in aviation. Upon graduating, he studied with the renowned acting teacher Stella Adler , and then made his Broadway theater debut in 1963 with “The Ballad of the Sad Cafe.” Shortly thereafter, he made his big screen debut in the little-known The Gang Who didn’t Shoot Straight , in which he played a waiter.
He shone most notably as the Erie Kid, one of the statesmen involved in the con organized by the protagonists, in The Heist , alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford . Later he was the patrolman who supported the character of Al Pacino , in Sérpico , and the accountant of Al Capone (Robert De Niro), in The Untouchables by Eliot Ness .
He chose not to lavish himself too much on the screen, only what was necessary to guarantee the survival of his family “How much money does a person need in this life?” Jack Kehoe explained in an interview. “How many cars can you have? How many houses can you live in? I’ve seen those stars on the coast riding in their sports cars like kids with a ten thousand dollar toy, crashing into trees and driving along the edges of mountains because they’re bored. They’re not evolving as actors, because they only think about making money.” He retired in 1997, after appearing briefly as a policeman in David Fincher ‘s The Game .
In 20015 he had suffered a stroke. He is survived by Sherry Smith, his wife of 40 years.
