Born May 22, 1946, in Philadelphia. Jack Kehler  was working as a waiter in New York at age 24 when he decided he didn’t want to be in that profession for the rest of his life. “I made a list of three or four things I would have liked to work on, even if I didn’t know how to do them, theater among them.” In the end he got a job on the boards. In the early 1980s he moved to Los Angeles, where he began his journey as a supporting actor in films. He was first seen on the big screen as a gas station attendant in Strange Invaders, a forgotten sci-fi film. He came to prominence with Michael Cimino’s Manhattan Sur, in which he appeared as Alan Perez, a dirty cop.

Until the early 1990s,  Jack Kehler  specialized in roles in television series such as Sad Song of Hill Street and the comedy Fresno , where he regularly appeared as a sergeant. Since then he has lavished himself in successful films, such as The Last Boy Scout , Grand Canyon , Waterworld or They Call Him Bodhi, in which he played a forensic doctor. He remembers above all his work in the aforementioned The Big Lebowski , directed by the Coen brothers . He reprized as landlord in the series With love, Victor , in which he worked shortly before his death.

In addition, Jack Kehler  stood out as Harlan Wyndam-Matson, boss of Rupert Evans’ character, in the service of the Japanese empire, in The Man in the High Castle .

He is survived by his wife, Shawna Casey, with whom he only had one child, the aforementioned Eddie.
