“It’s Like He Came Back”—Davido Says Newborn Son Looks Exactly Like Late Ifeanyi

Afrobeats superstar Davido has emotionally shared that his newborn son bears an uncanny resemblance to his late son, Ifeanyi, describing the likeness as “scary.”
In a heartfelt chat with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, the singer opened up about the healing journey that followed the devastating loss of his first son, Ifeanyi, who tragically drowned at his Banana Island residence in November 2022.
“That type of loss makes you want to disappear. I just focused on my wife and family,” Davido said, reflecting on the emotional toll. “But then, to be blessed with twins—a boy and a girl—and the boy looks exactly like Ifeanyi… it’s scary. We all say, ‘No, it’s him. He came back.’”
Davido and his wife, Chioma, welcomed the twins in October 2023, nearly a year after Ifeanyi’s death, and later held a grand wedding in June 2024.
