A member of the Atiku Abubakar campaign team in the Diaspora, Mr Soji Ogunade, has lamented the rate of unemployment and poverty in the country which he said confirmed the failure of the All Progressives Congress government(APC).

He also noted that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had the competencies and experience required to attend to move the country out of its disheartening situation.

Ogunade stated this in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.

According to him, “As the 2023 presidential election is about four months away, it is just good to draw the attention of Nigerians to the fact that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar remains the right choice. If we are looking for that politician and administrator par excellence that could help Nigeria navigate out of its present disheartening situation, it is PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

“The indices of our current economic realities with prices of foodstuff reaching the rooftop, dollar exchanging for N900, hyperinflation, mounting insecurity and unemployment, abject poverty, hunger among the rest only confirm the failure of APC government. It has really been a retrogressive change.

Ogunade ended by saying “In the face of all these confusions, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has all it takes to bring back Nigeria of our dreams. He is quite versatile and dynamic. He has the experience, he operates his businesses in the country.”

Meanwhile, A former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Elder Wole Oyelese, has cautioned people who are close to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State against making unnecessary comments that can affect the chances of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.

Oyelese made this disclosure on Monday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Recall, that Makinde and some PDP governors have vowed not to support the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

It was gathered that some aides of the governor have been taking advantage of the situation to gain cheap popularity.

One of the chieftains of the party, Elder Wole Oyelese has then cautioned aides of the governor against making further statements on the matter.

Oyelese in a statement made available to DAILY POST insisted that such comments may affect the chances of the party in 2023.

He added that those who are close to the governor, especially his aides should not take advantage of the current happenings in the party to cause more division among the party members and leaders.

He said that leaders of the party will not allow those whom he called detractors to destroy the party.

He added that destructive activities will not be in the interest of either the governor, the party or the candidates of the party.

Oyelese said, “Detractors cannot destroy PDP In Oyo.

“It has come to our notice that some mischievous individuals are taking advantage of the frosty relationship between Elder Oyelese and the governor to peddle falsehood calculated to generate bad blood in the party.

“I want to appeal to the praise singers surrounding the governor but who cannot say the truth when the need arises to desist from their slavish and destructive activities as it is not in the best interest of either the governor, the party or the candidates of our party for the different elective offices.

“The people of Oyo state are eagerly waiting for the PDP to remain in power and we cannot afford to let them down.”
