Imogen Poots is that blonde with the deep gaze, angelic face and perfect smile that we remember from the movie Need for Speed , her biggest screen appearance to date.

Poots was born on June 5, 1989 in London, United Kingdom, into a family dedicated to the world of communication. Her father, Trevor Poots, is a television producer, and her mother, Fiona Goodall, a journalist. His brother Alex is a model.

Poots spent his childhood from school to school, eventually finishing his studies at Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. At university she began to specialize to be a veterinarian, but her little resistance to blood and the passion that her performance began to generate in her made her drop out. On weekends she attended a theatrical workshop of the Young Blood Theater Company, thanks to which she opted for the profession of actress.

His first appearance in front of the camera was in the British medical series Casualty. After this brief foray, he fully immersed himself in the industry, combining roles in different genres, such as the adaptation of the graphic novel V for Vendetta (2006), the terrifying 28 Weeks Later (2007) or the progressive high school drama Cracks (2009). Even so, these tapes did not give it the necessary cachet and it continued to be second to small low-budget titles such as the peculiar Waking Madison , a drama that deals with a sick young woman.

In 2010, she would premiere three completely different films, proving that she is a chameleonic actress. From the homosexual parties of Germany in the 30s in Christopher and His Kind , through the cybernetic thriller Chatroom , to coinciding with Michael Fassbender himself in the historical Centurion , set in ancient Rome.

From then on his premieres are more prominent: the vampire comedy Fright Night , the period drama Jane Eyre , where he coincided again with Fassbender, and Filth, the dirty one , adaptation of the novel by Scotsman Irvine Welsh . Her best-known role and the one that has begun to give her a little more importance in Hollywood is that of Julia in the unbridled Need for Speed (2014). Thanks to her diverse career, she has managed to get the prestigious Terrence Malick to count on her for his new movie Knight of Cups.
