The President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari has reacted to a question on the suspension of operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter in Nigeria.

You will recall in a statement last week, Minister of information and Tourism Lai Mohammed had announced the indefinite suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria.

He stated that the government was forced to act because of “the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.”

No doubt, the suspension of the social media service has continued to spark widespread outrage within and outside Nigerians, condemning the move.

“I will keep that to myself,” Buhari said.

While featuring on Arise TV, he added that has defended his decision to construct railways and roads extending into the Niger Republic.

The President said borders were arbitrarily drawn by the French colonialists without taking into cognizance the cultural similarities of the people of Niger and Nigeria even as he revealed that he has first cousins in the Niger Republic.
