“I Thought I Made the Biggest Mistake”—Pastor Jerry Eze Opens Up on Quitting UN Job for Ministry

Popular Nigerian preacher and founder of the global NSPPD prayer movement, Pastor Jerry Eze, has revealed that he once doubted his divine calling after walking away from a prestigious international career.
In a deeply personal moment on the WithChude Live podcast, Eze recalled the fear and uncertainty that followed his bold decision to resign from his high-flying job with the World Bank’s HIV/AIDS project and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
“One month after I quit, I genuinely felt I had ruined my life,” he admitted. “I had no pulpit, no crowd—just my Bible, prayers, and a heavy sense of confusion.”
According to him, the silence and isolation became unbearable at times, making him question whether God had truly called him into ministry.
“I kept asking, can God really make me jobless?” Eze said.
Yet what felt like a personal crisis turned out to be the divine incubation of a global movement. The same man who once had no one to preach to now leads one of the world’s biggest online prayer platforms—New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD)—streamed by millions daily.
