The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, has suggested that the next president of the country should be from the southern region.
The Governor expressed his thought during an interview on Channels Television, which was aired on Thursday.
There have been several discourses on which geopolitical zone should get the presidential ticket for the 2023 general election, in the two major political parties; APC and PDP.
Contributing his quota to the discourse the governor said: “With regards to zoning, fair is fair. If you ask me, I would, as a person — Aminu — think we should move the presidency to the southern part of the country,”
When asked which part of the south he prefers, he said “south is south”.
The governor also used the opportunity to brag about the impact of the APC administration on ordinary citizens
“No government, no political party since the independence in Nigeria has brought about social interventions like the APC government. Billions of naira have been paid to ordinary people,” he said.
