A young Nigerian woman has left many heartbroken online after revealing how her dream of studying in the United States was crushed, despite painstakingly saving every kobo of her NYSC allowance and part of her monthly salary.

Sharing her story on social media, the distraught lady said she never touched her NYSC stipend throughout her service year, instead adding ₦200 from her monthly salary to reach a target savings of ₦20,000. The money, she noted, was used to process her master’s degree application abroad, including transcript fees and application charges.
