“I Can’t Shout for VDM Yet!” — Oba Solomon Breaks Silence on Arrest, Warns Nigerians Against Rushed Judgment

Controversial Nigerian preacher, Oba Solomon, has addressed the uproar trailing the arrest of social media firebrand, VeryDarkMan (VDM), urging Nigerians to stay calm and avoid jumping to conclusions.
In a video making the rounds, the outspoken cleric said he won’t be joining the online mob dragging the EFCC or GTBank over the incident, not until the actual reason for VDM’s arrest is made public.
“I cannot tell the government to release VDM until I know his offence. Nobody is above the law,” Oba Solomon stated firmly.
VDM was picked up shortly after visiting a GTBank branch with his mother to sort out some suspicious account debits. While many supporters believe the bank colluded with the EFCC in facilitating his arrest, Oba Solomon is calling for patience.
According to him, Nigerians should wait until Monday, when the EFCC is expected to issue an official statement explaining the situation.

“Everybody should calm down and wait till Monday. If EFCC fails to speak, then we can swear for them,” he said, drawing laughter online.
The preacher also reminded his followers that law enforcement agencies have the right to arrest anyone, anywhere, but what matters most is whether proper procedure was followed.
