Hugo Silva
Dark-haired, handsome, with undoubted magnetism. His career has only just begun, but he has the wood to consolidate himself as a youthful actor with charisma.
Rafael Hugo Fernández Silva, or simply Hugo Silva, his stage name, was born in Madrid, in the San Blas neighborhood, on May 10, 1977. As a child he loved pirate movies, one of his heroes was Burt Lancaster . Although he started working as an electrician, it would be another type of spark that would awaken among his legion of fans, and that is that his mother encouraged her in her dream of becoming an actor. For this he enrolled in the Royal School of Dramatic Art, while also learning singing and guitar, skills that to date he has not developed professionally, although he was part of the group Inordem where he gave to heavy metal. Years later he affirmed that “To act is to abandon yourself. Putting aside your own identity to play with another”, a beautiful definition of the acting profession.
In order for his opportunity to arrive in the cinema, he had to go through another screen, the small one on television. In the program “Crónicas marcianas” he makes a playback of the Heavy group, his first television experience. The boy was quite handsome, ideal for Tele 5 to add him to the gang of young people in the series Al salir de clase . In any case, Hugo wanted to learn acting in depth, so he took time away from TV to do theater. However, he would return to the television adventures with his leading role in Paco y Veva , a series of rather fleeting duration. Although the same would not happen with another television serial with Paco in his name, the police Los hombres de Pacowith his Lucas would make him a tremendously familiar face for viewers.
In cinema it also started with little luck, for example with one of the weakest titles by Manuel Gómez Pereira , Reinas (2005). But he shone with his own light together with another television company, Irene Visedo , in El hombre de arena (2007), where she gave life to a saner guy than many who define themselves as such, but who is confined to a mental hospital. Finally, she got hooked on popular titles at the box office, although of debatable quality, such as Mentiras y gordas (2008), an empty look at an empty youth, and Que se mueran los feos (2010), together with Javier Cámara . More interest was his work in Guts (2009), with the veterans Carmelo Gómezand Celso Bugallo . His most recent work has been for television, La princesa de Éboli , where he gives life to Antonio Pérez, the secretary of Felipe II and lover of the princess of Éboli. He has also filmed the series Karabudjan in Colombia .
Despite his youth, the actor put his voice together with colleagues such as Juan Diego or Pedro Almodóvar , in a controversial video that called for an end to impunity for the crimes of Francoism. Regarding his love life, at the moment there are no firm commitments, although alleged girlfriends such as Ingrid Reino and Raquel Infante are awarded to him . He recognizes himself messy, and says that his favorite movie is the Spanish Solas . Regarding the pressure from cameras and fans, he comments “Fame is very difficult to manage because it has a component that you cannot control.”
