What is N-power
N-power is a scheme set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to address the issues of youth unemployment and help increase social development in Nigeria.
The scheme was created as a component of the National Social Investment Management System, on the 8th of June 2016, to provide a structure for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development and to ensure that each participant will learn and practice most of what is necessary to find or create work.
It is important to note that the program is designed to target Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35 “to acquire and develop life-long skills for becoming change-makers in their communities.”
N-Power Eligibility
It is important to note that is divided majorly into two programs: N-POWER Graduate Programs & N-POWER Non-Graduate Programs.
N-POWER Graduate Programs
N-power Graduate programs are programs that are available to people who graduated from any higher institution within the country and must have completed the mandatory one-year NYSC programme. The program under this category include:
N-Power Agro: This program is designed to provide services to farmers across the country. Part of the focus is to support the development of efficient farming techniques and practices to maximize productivity in the agricultural sector.
The N-Power Teach: This program is designed to help improve basic education in Nigerian communities. Volunteers are deployed as teachers assistants in primary schools where they engage with students to foster relationships and build confidence while supporting their educational development.
The N-Power Health: This program is designed to support the development of healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria by deploying volunteers to provide care with a focus on preventative measures and the most vulnerable, including pregnant women and children. Thereby increasing access to basic health services in underserved communities
N-POWER Non-Graduate Programs
The N-power Non Graduate programs are programs that are available to both graduates and non-graduates. The aim of the programs in this category is to help Youths learn valuable skills that are profitable and employable. The program under this category include:
N-Power Knowledge: This programme is designed by the Federal Government towards diversifying to a knowledge economy. The programme which comprises mostly creatives & tech developers is designed to ensure that participants can get engaged in the marketplace in an outsourcing capacity, as freelancers, as employees and as entrepreneurs.
N-Power Build: this is an accelerated training and certification (Skills to Job) programme that will engage and train 75,000 young unemployed Nigerians in order to build a new crop of a skilled and highly competent workforce of technicians, artisans and service professionals in the following industries: Construction, Utilities, Automotive, Environment Services, Aluminium and Gas
2022 N-power Requirements
The requirements for the program is based on the program of your choice but generally speaking, these are the basic requirements for the program.
- Applicants Must be between 18-35 years old
- A Valid National ID.
- Bank Verification Number
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Passport photographs.
- An active email address.
For those applying for graduate programs
- You will need a minimum of OND or B.Sc in any field of discipline.
- NYSC discharge certificate.
How to Register for N-power

- Create an account with your active email
- Fill in the necessary details
- Scan and Upload the required documents
- Review your information & Submit
- Npower Shortlisted Candidates will be published shortly after
Selected applicants will be placed in several places known as the primary place of assignment (PPA). These PPA can be found by checking your Npower Deployment Status. Applicants will then be paid specific stipends on monthly basis by the scheme
