How Michael Bakari Jordan created the body and lifestyle he wanted

Hustle and bustle is what Michael B. Jordan firmly believes in. He wants people to see him as a doer, which he likes to identify himself as. Behind every suave, dignified public presence is years of professional experience, beginning at the tender age of 12 with brief appearances on sitcoms such as an episode of Cosby and The Sopranos .

What casually started out as modeling for sporting goods and a toy brand led Michael into the middle of the acting profession. However, a random introduction to the camera didn’t immediately translate into a spate of plum projects getting in Jordan’s way. He still had to fight to earn the life he’s living right now.

Anything worth having in life takes time and commitment

At 14, Jordan landed a role in a Keanu Reeves film, Hardball followed by a key role in the first season of HBO ‘s The Cable . The character played by Michael had all the sit up and notice, but he still had to persevere to have more work to do. He put three years of work into a daily soap and became increasingly convinced that he never wanted to take up the genre again as an actor.

After moving to Los Angeles, Michael fought for the smallest appearances in all leading prime-time series such as CSI, Cold Case, Lie to Me without a Trace, Law & Order , Burning Hint and House .

He broke new ground playing quarterback Vince Howard on the NBC drama, Friday Night Lights , and earned a recurring role on Parenthood , a family drama on the same channel.

Michael’s first major success, accompanied by critical acclaim, finally came with the starring role of Oscar Grant in Fruitvale Station (2013). In early 2015, he played Johnny Storm / The Human Torch in the Fantastischen Vier reboot. With Creed Michael B. Jordan’s character is on, add a new dimension to the storyline of the famous Rocky franchise. He will play Apollo Creed’s son Adonis Creed with Sylvester Stallone as his mentor on and off screen.

It’s not good enough to stay calm. Raise your game as often as you can

Determination Doesn’t Last Long on the WeakIt takes a lot of determination to stand up to both criticism and competition. Michael B. Jordan keeps his competitive spirit alive by taking the time to think about every career-defining step and mentally preparing for every decision that might go wrong. Not wanting to play the stereotypical roles of a black actor playing a gangster or a drug dealer, he does everything he can to seek out thoughtful content.

When cast as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch , Jordan has had to endure a lot of internet hate since the character is not owned by a black male according to the Fantastic Four comic books. However, Michael didn’t let that bother him. He continues to perform his film roles to the best of his ability and invests a great deal of energy in his production company, where he also focuses on producing engaging cartoons.

Whether it’s professional success or a torn, fitter body, both are the natural result of long-term healthy habits

Michael often reiterates that an actor must hear no several times before hearing yes. Similarly, transforming into a top-notch boxer will produce some mistakes before hitting what really works.

While trying to lean in for the role of Johnny Storm , like most people, Michael initially had an instinct to cut back on his usual meals in order to get lean. He confessed that starvation only made his body look “soft.” The following tenets were the main tenets he used to gain buffs, but he excelled at Creed .

  • Feed your body high-quality foods regularly and strategically

Michael reserves heavy carbohydrate meals for the first half of the day and limits carbohydrate intake after 1 p.m. His typical menu looks like this:

AM : KORN, 4 eggs, turkey sausage

2-3 hours later : grilled chicken, broccoli, asparagus, brown rice

Afternoon : tilapia, steamed vegetables

Pre-dinner : shaking

Dinner : Steak

Evening : shaking

  • Train hard and evenly

Jordan works every part of his body and doesn’t skip a leg day. Sometimes he presses 900 pounds on the leg press alone!

  • When in doubt, rethink the basics and complicate them

Working out instead of just performingJordan recommends doing push-ups and sit-ups in your living room, alternating clockwise and then counter-clockwise in pyramid sets of 12, 11, 10,…, 1, followed by 25 to 30 push-ups after each set . A video demonstration of clock push-ups is available below.

  • Watch the champions to function like one

Finally, Jordan’s preparation would have been incomplete without studying the form of fighters who make more than a sound thrive on boxing. Michael mostly followed the likes of Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Amir Khan. True to boxing convention, running and jumping were his favorite forms of high-intensity cardio for conditioning.
