“He Spoke for Nigerians”—VDM’s Brother Breaks Silence After Arrest

Following the shocking arrest of Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, his brother has come forward with an emotional account of how their mother cried helplessly inside GTBank as police officers whisked her son away.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the brother recounted the terrifying moment the influencer was reportedly arrested at a GTBank branch in Abuja, where he and their mother had gone to lodge complaints about repeated, unauthorized deductions from her account.
According to him, the GTBank staff had begun addressing their complaints when policemen stormed the banking hall and arrested VeryDarkMan. The brother recalled receiving a distress call from their mother moments later.
“I got a call from my mum—she was crying. She said policemen came and arrested my brother. On what basis? Is it a crime to speak for Nigerians when people are blind?” he asked.
