Harold gould
His face is quite familiar, because throughout his life he had leading roles in successful productions. He worked in numerous movies, series and plays, almost always playing elegant and well-dressed guys, many times Jewish. Supporting actor Harold Gould died in Los Angeles of prostate cancer on September 11, 2010.
Harold V. Goldstein (his real name), was born on December 10, 1923 in Schenectady, New York, into a fairly modest Jewish family, as his father was a postal service worker. The boy fought in Europe during World War II, and later studied drama at Cornell University, where he met Lea Vernon, the woman from his life, whom he would later marry.
Upon completion of his studies, Gould spent three years as a drama teacher. But in 1960 he decided that he preferred to try to establish himself as an actor. He made his debut on the big screen, with Cualquier día en cualquier esquina, without being included in the credits. Gradually he landed larger roles in The Amary Canary , a drama with Pat Boone , and Harper, a Private Investigator , with Paul Newman . In addition, he became a regular presence on television, with regular roles in series such as The Virginian , Super Agent 86 , etc., and was successful on the Broadway stage.
The biggest role of Harold Gould’s career was the con man Kid Twist, in The Heist . He was also a guy who dueled with Woody Allen in Boris Grushenko’s Last Night .
He spent years playing elegant guys in suits, although in recent years, due to his age, he specialized in the role of grandfather, for example, in the movie Put on my place . It was also Miles Webber, the teacher who conquered Rose, one of the protagonists. Gould lived in Los Angeles with Lea, his wife. They both had two children.
