- When he won Man of the Match on his ODI debut, he became the fourth Indian player to win the award after Sandeep Patil, Mohit Sharma and teammate KL Rahul.
- When he was 5 years old, his father moved the family from Surat to Vadodara so that his sons could become better cricket players. He had to close his car finance business in Surat.
- During his childhood, Pandya attended former wicket keeper Kiran More’s academy in Vadodara. Previously, More also chaired the selection committee of the BCCI.
- While playing in local cricket tournaments, Hardik and his brother Krunal used to ride in a used car. However, they often got stuck in unfortunate situations because of insufficient fuel in the car.
