The opening transfer window is drawing near, and the research group CIES Football Observatory has released their latest rankings of the most valuable players in world football.
The top spot on the list is once again occupied by Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has been in incredible form this season, scoring 25 goals in 19 appearances for Manchester City. He is also on the verge of winning a treble with the club, having already won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
Haaland’s estimated value is €245 million, which is at least €49 million more than the next player on the list. Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid is in second place, with a value of €196.3 million. The Brazilian winger has also been in excellent form this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in La Liga.
In third place is Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. The 20-year-old English winger has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 6 assists. He has recently signed a new contract with Arsenal, which will keep him at the club until 2027.
Completing the top five are Jude Bellingham with an estimated value of €190million and Rodrygo Goes with a value of €184.5million.
Some of those on the list are on the verge of joining a new team during the summer transfer window, while other clubs are looking to get one of the jewels on the list to strengthen their club ahead of the new season.

The CIES study measures factors such as performance, career progression, age and a club’s performance and economic value to determine players’ transfer values. The top 10 most valuable players are:
