Gus Kenworthy is a British-born American skier and actor, perhaps best known for winning the silver medal in the men’s slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He had a brief acting career making appearances on TV shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars and is slated to appear in the ninth season of the FX series American Horror Story . Additionally, he was a cast member of MTV’s The Challenge: Champions vs. Pros in 2017.

Gus Kenworthy was born Augustus Richard Kenworthy on October 1, 1991 in Chelmsford, Essex, United Kingdom. Born in Great Britain, he has an American nationality and belongs to a mixed ethnicity. The youngest of three children, he has two older brothers; Hugh Kenworthy and Nick Kenworthy.
His father was the CEO of the Mountainfilm film festival in Telluride and is a former banker from Philadelphia who has worked in the UK for a number of years. Her mother, who hails from Bristol, England, has worked behind the scenes in the wardrobe at the Kings Head Theater Club and also ran a vintage stand at Camden Lock Market.
His mother moved to Telluride with his father and siblings in Telluride in 1993. There, he attended Telluride High School, graduating in June 2010. He could have graduated in 2009, but decided to take a year off to ski.
