Champions League Winner Gundogan agrees two-year deal with Barcelona
Treble Winning Midfielder with Manchester City, Ikay Gundogan has agreed a three-year deal with La Liga 22/23 winner Barcelona on Tuesday after failing to agree a new deal with Man City.
The Manchester City captain was Pep Guardiola first signing in the summer of 2016 and has so far, won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups and featured in the Champions League triumph over Inter Milan earlier this month.
The German Midfielder has been sensational in the weeks wrapping up the season, with a man of the match performance against Manchester United in the FA cup final. However, the Germany international’s future has been shrouded in uncertainty due to his contract expiring at the end of June.
There have been times since the turn of the year where it has been claimed that an exit is more likely than extending his stay in Manchester.
Barcelona head coach has been quite vocal in his admiration of the former Borrusia Dortmund Man, saying that Gundogan has the skill set to replace former Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets.
The news comes as Man City have agreed a £30m deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic, which would go some way to compensating for the loss of Gundogan.
