Govt to Give Five Hundred Thousand Naira To Students- Akwa Ibom State Government has promised to give N500,000 to students who excel in WAEC.

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has vowed to give the sum of N500,000 to students who will make 7 A’s in the forthcoming WAEC examinations.
The Deputy Governor, Moses Ekpo stated this while addressing students and staff of Government Model Girls Secondary School in Ikot Ekang and Holy Family College in Abak Local Government, Akwa Ibom.
Ekpo who was also a student of Holy Family College praised the school for making him what he is today. He revealed that the college has produced over 28 professors, Judges at the State and federal levels and prominent personnel in the nation.
His N500,000 pledge is therefore a means of encouraging the students to become better at their studies and focus on the things that matter.
The Deputy Governor further warned the students to desist from cultism and other social vices that will hinder their education and career.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Education, Idongesit Etiebiet reiterated the State’s commitment towards ensuring quality education for students across all levels.
