Governor Bello Matawalle Reveals People Sponsoring Bandits In Zamfara State

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has accused politicians and prominent personalities in the state of sponsoring bandits.

He made this allegation on Tuesday when he received the Nigeria Governors’ (NGF) Forum’s delegation led by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State at the Government House, Gusau.

The Governor however promised to fish out the elites behind these nefarious acts, he said any politician or prominent personality coming into the state to cause unrest among the citizen will be arrested and punished severely by the state.

He claimed that the reason why the elites are sponsoring banditry in the state is to cause unrest and make the state ungovernable, he however asserted that nobody is above the Law of the land, vowing to deal with every culprit involve in the menace.

Matawalle challenged any of the politicians to dare him and see the consequences, stressing that he is now in charge of the affairs of the state.

The governor maintained that the prominent personalities solidly behind banditry in the state would be arrested soon and that their sins would also find them out.

“These power-drunk politicians cannot stay in Abuja, Kaduna, or anywhere in Nigeria and be instigating crisis and be sponsoring terrorism in the state, killing thousands of innocent citizens of the state for selfish interest,” he said.
