Gita Hall
Gita Hall was involved in films such as the western “The Gun Runners” by Don Siegel. The Swedish actress and model she died on August 13, 2016 at the age of 82, at her residence in Studio City (Los Angeles), due to liver failure.
Born in Linkoping, Sweden, on September 6, 1933, Birgitta Wetterhall played some minor roles in her country’s cinema, before being elected Miss Stockholm. She competed to be Miss Sweden, but was runner-up, being beaten by the legendary Anita Ekberg.
She then moved to Paris, where she worked as a model for Pierre Balmain’s couture firm. From there she jumped to the United States, where she triumphed on the New York catwalks, and monopolized magazine covers. After marrying Barry Sullivan (Captives of Evil), she moved to Hollywood, where she starred with him in the adventure film Wolf Larsen.
In Gita Hall ‘s filmography, The Gun Runners stands out , adaptation of the text “To have and not to have”, by Ernest Hemingway , where she played Eva, the villain’s smiling girlfriend, played by Eddie Albert .
After divorcing and joining stockbroker Mitchell May III, she retired to devote herself to her family. In 2008, she starred in the reality show “Old Skool With Terry and Gita”, alongside fellow actress Terry Moore . In 2013 she denounced those responsible for Mad Men for using her image without her permission in the credits of the series.
