Ginnifer Goodwin
Her work as the kindhearted wife of a polygamist on the series Big Love has catapulted this young southerner to stardom, and she has a bright future.
Born May 22, 1978, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jennifer Michelle Goodwin is the daughter of an educator and the owner of a recording studio. She changed her name to give it originality, according to her pronunciation in the southern dialect. She was a fervent Jew, from a very young age she was an active participant in the events of the Memphis Jewish Community Center. A great student, she graduated in Fine Arts with honors in 2001 from Boston University.
She got her start on the small screen in Law & Order and Ed , before being cast as the sweet and shy student Connie in Mona Lisa Smile . She was also another student in The Boy of Your Life , and Johnny Cash ‘s first wife , in Walk the Line .
Ginnifer Goodwin owes her popularity to the series Big Love , where she plays one of the three wives of polygamist Bill Henrickson, the character played by Bill Paxton . The series has lasted five seasons between 2006 and 2011. During all this time, Goodwin has not given up on continuing to appear in movies like A Single Man , where she was the neighbor, or What Happens to Men , where she played a girl who after meeting the ideal man, she refuses to accept that she doesn’t call him because he’s not interested in her. In the sweetened romantic comedy Something Borrowed , she plays a lawyer who gets involved with the boyfriend of her best friend, a few days before the wedding.
Ginnifer’s own real-life wedding didn’t go very well either. She announced that she was marrying actor Joey Kern ( Super Lumberjacks ), but they broke up before the ceremony. She had previously dated actor Chris Klein .
