Ghastly Facts

1. He spent his childhood on a goat farm in Arizona with 650 cows and 260 goats. He later moved to Venice Beach, where he worked as a resident DJ at Swap LA . However, since his family could not support him financially, he was homeless and forced to live in a van. Ghastly eventually decided to move to the city. He slept on the beach and had to shower in public toilets.
2. Ghastly later took a job at American Apparel, where he worked for two months before being fired after they found out he was living in a van.
3. The first song he wrote was in a compilation album by OWSLA formed by acclaimed DJ Skrillex. He then created an EP for the label, which was rejected. Having lost his life savings and job after being rejected by OWSLA, he decided to move back to the goat farm where he worked for 7 months.
4. After saving enough money in 7 months, he returned to Los Angeles. He was employed as a promoter at Exchange LA. He was later hired as resident DJ.
5. Ghastly was previously the lead singer of a metal band called The Irish Front .
6. He has worked for activism for Bridges for the Music which is a non-profit organization that aims to help underprivileged communities through music and seeks to raise awareness of local issues through music.
7. He has revealed in interviews that he got into music after his brother introduced him to legendary metal band Metallica.
