1. While playing for IUPUI University, he was named Summit League Player of the Year and received an Honorable Mention All-American in his junior year.
2. After high school, he chose IUPUI over prestigious institutes like Temple and Indiana because he wanted to be close to his ailing great-grandfather.
3. A few months after he verbally agreed to IUPUI, his great-grandfather passed away, but he still chose not to leave IUPUI, based on his great-grandfather’s advice.
4. After suffering an injury in his third year of college, he was granted red shirt status, which extended his stint for another year.
