Geoffrey Scott
He played the husband of Linda Evans’ character in “Dynasty”, one of the most popular series of the eighties. Geoffrey Scott passed away on February 23, 2021, at age 79, of Parkinson’s disease, at his home in Bromfield, Colorado, after midnight, on his birthday.”
Born in Los Angeles on February 22, 1942, Geoffrey Scott was the son of Reed, manager of the powerful Lockheed aircraft company, and Jayne, a housewife. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley on the same street as John Wayne and Clark Gable , whose pool he used to jump without asking for as a child.
At 18, he was recruited by legendary agent Dick Clayton, who has also brought Jane Fonda and James Dean . He got her an exclusive contract with Universal. He played numerous roles in television series such as Kojak , before appearing in 1982 in the aforementioned Dynasty , where his character, Mark Jennings, was a professional tennis player.
Married to Tanya Thompson, his high school sweetheart, Geoffrey Scott divorced to join Caron Engelhart Scott in 1975, and later Cheri Catherine Scott, with whom he had two children, and who accompanied him until his death.
He also gave life to a detective in Concrete Cowboys , a series in which he replaced Tom Selleck as the lead . In Cliffhangers he played a military man battling aliens, in the fantasy drama Dark Shadows he played a newspaper editor, and in the comedy 1st & Ten he played a football player. He also shot a hundred commercials, one of them very popular, where he played a Marlboro cowboy.
Geoffrey Scott retired from cinema in 2003, after playing the President of the United States, in Hulk , a Marvel superhero directed by Ang Lee .
