Geddy Lee is a Canadian national and was born on July 29, 1953. He was born in Willowdale, Ontario to parents Morris and Mary Weinrib. It is known that her parents were survivors of the Jewish Holocaust. She grew up with her mother after her father died of medical conditions and she started playing music at the age of 10. She began performing professionally at high school dances and cafes.
