1. Starfield – 2023
The ambitious sci-fi marvel from Bethesda, Starfield, has thousands of planets to discover. Players will take control of an explorer from the Constellation in this space-bound role-playing game as they travel across the universe two decades after a destructive interplanetary war wreaked havoc.
With Fallout and The Elder Scrolls under Bethesda’s belt, the prospect of any new role-playing game from the developer should be exciting enough – and Starfield is looking to be another trophy to add to the team’s shelf. It is definitely one of the games to keep the mood high as it is coming as onwe of the games coming in 2023.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – May 12, 2023
Tears of the Kingdom, a long-awaited sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, transports Link to an older Hyrule. Magical mischief results after Link and Zelda discover a body that suspiciously resembles Ganon, and pieces of Hyrule are launched into the air.
Meanwhile, despite being a sequel to one of the most acclaimed games on the Nintendo Switch, Tears of the Kingdom aims to improve upon Breath of the Wild with new aerial exploration in the Skyward Sword style and a variety of new Sheikah Slate tools for Link to use.
3. Street Fighter 6 – June 2, 2023
In 2023, Street Fighter 6 will launch with three unique game modes. Fighting Ground is a staple for classic Street Fighter action, but there’s also a brand-new campaign mode called World Tour where you have to advance to the position of champion. The new Battle Hub is another option for multiplayer gaming.
If you’ve been on the fence about diving into Street Fighter, this could be the chance you’ve been waiting for. This is especially true because of the game’s promising new social features, which we fell in love with. Street Fighter 6 boasts 18 fighters that are available from launch and features like arcade mode and a social battle hub to enjoy.
4. Resident Evil 4 Remake – March 24, 2023
Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the games to look forward to in 2023, it is going to worth the wait. The long-rumored and eagerly awaited modern adaptation of the classic survival horror game will “preserve the essence of the original game,” but modernize gameplay, “reimagine” the plot, and provide the kind of visuals that the RE Engine has demonstrated recently.
Leon Kennedy searches for the President’s missing daughter in a Spanish village that is home to a murderous cult in Resident Evil 4, which debuts in March 2023. This bloody remake is expected to be “absolutely amazing” when it debuts, so horror fans beware—this is shaping up to be a must-play, according to our hands-on preview.
5. Hollow Knight Silksong – 12 June 2023
We finally have a trailer and a release date for the Hollow Knight sequel, which is scheduled for 2023 and will be an Xbox Game Pass title available from day one. Fans had been thronging every publisher’s showcase for news about Silksong for years, but now we have both.
The most exciting development is that we’ll be moving around as Hornet, who appears to be much more agile than the titular Hollow Knight, even though we haven’t seen a lot of Silksong. It is unclear how that will affect the game, but if you’re one of the many metroidvania fans who adore Team Cherry, this is one of the most anticipated releases in recent memory.
With so many new features and enemies to face, Silksong is one action-packed sequel to keep an eye out for. Team Cherry has created a connected world with beautiful hand-crafted 2D landscapes that are all absolutely stunning.
6. Assassin’s Creed Mirage – March 9, 2023
In a nod to earlier, more linear Assassin’s Creed games from Ubisoft, Mirage transports players to Baghdad in the year 861 AC. Mirage follows Basim’s development from a street thief to a trained killer under the guidance of master assassin Roshan. Basim is a familiar name to fans of Valhalla (played by Shohreh Aghdashloo). Mirage, a “tightly crafted, narrative-driven” game, sounds like a wonderful opportunity for fans to rediscover everything that made them fall in love with the series in the first place.
As Bassim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will transport us to Baghdad. A narrative-driven action-adventure that is smaller in scope than the open-world RPG that came before it, Mirage will pay homage to the original Assassin’s Creed experience that launched the series, but with more contemporary features and mechanics. Assassin Creed, is one of the games coming out in 2023.
7. Final Fantasy 16 – June 22, 2023
The official name of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. In 2023, Cloud will finally make his long-awaited appearance, and Square Enix has hinted at a significant departure from the original FF7 storyline.
Meanwhile, you might want to check out the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion remaster that is scheduled to release later this year 2022 to get all caught up on the story given that Crisis Core’s Zack featured so prominently in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reveal trailer. Otherwise, we won’t be able to download Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 until “Winter 2023.”
Final Fantasy 16 will lead players on a kingdom-hopping adventure through a region on the verge of a devastating war in the Valisthean continent. Early trailers depict an epic brimming with political intrigue a la Game of Thrones, action-packed combat, and some of the series’ most terrifying creatures yet in the form of Eikons. Since 2023 is predicted to be a particularly quiet year for high fantasy, Final Fantasy 16 fills a gap that only Square Enix can.
8. Dead Island 2 – April 28, 2023
Dead Island is also one of the amazing games coming out in 2023 that is going to give you chills especially if you are one of the lovers of horror games. It might be difficult to believe, but Dead Island 2 is real and will be released in 2023.
Although reviews of the first game were mixed, marketing for the follow-up suggests that Deep Silver is prepared to embrace a lighter, sillier vibe in the future. Because of this, Dead Island 2’s sunny depiction of Los Angeles appears to be gory, unnecessary fun. Even if you’re not a fan, aren’t you curious to see how Dead Island 2 ultimately turns out?
9. Diablo 4 – June 6, 2023
Since the last mainline Diablo game debuted more than ten years ago, we’ve been particularly starved for more gratuitously grisly isometric action. The series will be turned into an open-world adventure with a nonlinear campaign in Diablo 4, which will be developed by Blizzard Entertainment.
The main antagonist of Diablo 4 will be Lilith, the creator of Sanctuary who has returned with a legion of demons following a protracted exile. This event is the most recent in a string of near-apocalypses. Since the release of Diablo 3, Blizzard’s venerable series has faced more competition than ever; let’s hope 4 has some fresh ideas to reclaim the throne.
10. Company of Heroes 3 – February 23, 2023
Relic Entertainment is preparing to release a long-awaited sequel that promises to be bigger and better in every way nine years after the release of Company of Heroes 2. The next-generation destructible environments in Company of Heroes 3 will push the real-time battle system to its absolute limit, making for a fantastic combination of action, tactics, and strategy.
Players will have more freedom to experiment with their own strategies thanks to a Total War-style campaign map that connects each RTS battle to a larger picture, while the game’s traditional real-time battles look more exciting than ever. Company of Heroes 3 is going to be huge, as we’ve already played a preview version and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is more than a game, it going to be a real life action, it is among the games to look forward to in 2023.
