It seems there is powder left in the grinding mill of Bola Tinubu as he is bent on removing weed from his government. This new development is coming exactly three weeks since the president took the oath of office and he directed the new service chiefs to resume with immediate effect.
Here is the Full List of Service Chiefs Tinubu Has Sacked:
- Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff
- Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff
- Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff
- Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff
- Usman Alkali Baba, Inspector-General of Police
The new service chiefs are:
- Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff
- Maj. Gen T. A Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff
- Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff

President Tinubu also appointed a new National Security Adviser (NSA). The new NSA is Nuhu Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The shakeup in the security sector comes amid growing concerns about the security situation in the country. In recent months, there has been a surge in attacks by armed groups in several parts of the country.
More so, the sacking of the service chiefs came as a surprise to many, as it was not clear why President Tinubu had decided to make such a drastic move. However, there are a number of possible reasons for the sacking.
One possibility is that President Tinubu was unhappy with the performance of the service chiefs in recent months. In particular, there has been a surge in attacks by armed groups in several parts of the country, and President Tinubu may have felt that the service chiefs were not doing enough to address the security challenges.
Another possibility is that President Tinubu was looking to bring in new blood to the security sector. The service chiefs who were sacked had all been in their positions for several years, and President Tinubu may have felt that it was time for a change.
Whatever the reason for the sacking, it is clear that President Tinubu is serious about addressing the security challenges facing Nigeria. The new service chiefs will have a difficult task ahead of them, but they will have the full support of the President.
