- Rosemary Pearson (1969-1970) – Freddie is said to have been in a relationship with Rosemary Pearson while she was a student at Ealing Technical College. She fell in love with his sense of humor and caring demeanor. However, they broke up a year later. His homosexual inclinations drove them apart. So she went to his apartment and told him it was over.
- In the mid-1970s, he had a short-lived affair with an unnamed American who was reportedly the record executive at Elektra Records.
- Mary Austin – Freddie started dating Mary Austin in the mid ’70s. He had met her through guitarist Brian May. Shortly after their relationship began, she moved in to live with him. However, after he told her about his homosexual desires in 1976, they decided to end their relationship. But they stayed close over the years. After their separation, he bought a place for her near his home. Even he left his London home in his will along with the proceeds of his music royalties, claiming that she had been his wife anyway.

- Freddie was an enthusiastic and passionate brand collector. Even two decades after his death, his extensive stamp collection from his estate, which began under his birth name, has been exhibited worldwide.
- He loved his cats very much. In fact, he dedicated his solo album, Bad Guy , to his pets, and when he traveled he was always on the phone with his cats and would spend hours on such calls.
- In a 2002 poll by Guinness World Records, his song Bohemian Rhapsody was selected as Britain’s favorite pop single of all time.
- In 2002 he was ranked 58th in the list of the ‘100 Greatest Britons’ by a BBC poll.
- His famous overbite was the result of four additional teeth. He spoke of corrective surgery, but ultimately decided against it.
