Frank Vallelonga Jr.
“Green Book” actor Frank Vallelonga Jr. died on November 28, 2022, at age 60. New York police responded to a call early Monday morning just before 4 a.m. in the Bronx and found the performer unconscious and unresponsive on the ground. The doctors who moved to the place could not do anything.
Frank Vallelonga Jr. was the son of the late actor Tony Lip , stage name of Frank Vallelonga, who died in 2013, and who appeared playing mobsters in titles such as The Sopranos . The aforementioned Green Book was based on the latter’s memoirs, played by the actor Viggo Mortensen .
For his part, Frank Vallelonga, Jr. played Rudy Vallelonga, his uncle in real life. In addition, he appeared in the independent film The Birthday Cake , and in an episode of the television series The Neighborhood .
Vallelonga Jr.’s brother, Nick Vallelonga, co-wrote the screenplay for Green Book , which received an Oscar, and also produced the film.
The New York police have indicated that the investigation into what happened to Vallelonga Jr. is ongoing and that a forensic doctor will determine the cause of his death.
