Frank Sinatra Jr.

He followed in his father’s footsteps as a singer, and even occasionally as an actor as well. Frank Sinatra Jr. died on March 16, 2016 at the age of 72, as a result of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Daytona Beach (Florida), according to Andrea Kauffman, his agent. “The family mourns the death of their son, brother, father and uncle,” said Nancy Sinatra, his sister.

Born on January 10, 1944 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Franklin Wayne Emmanuel Sinatra was the son of the famous star Frank Sinatra and Nancy Barbato, his first wife.

At the age of 19, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps, singing in Las Vegas, and on numerous tours. In one of them he was kidnapped, on December 8, 1963, in the town of Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, by criminals. They released him two days later because his father, who went through the greatest ordeal of his life, ended up paying $240,000 in ransom. Some time later the perpetrators were arrested by the police.

Throughout his career, he was never able to overcome hateful comparisons with his illustrious progenitor. “His imperfections were irritating, but he was a genuine artist and his work will endure as long as people can listen, reflect and feel,” he declared after his father’s death.

He tried his hand at film with the musical drama A Man Called Adam , where Sammy Davis Jr. , a great friend of his father, played a trumpeter. Subsequently, he limited himself to secondary roles, especially in television series, such as Vacations at sea , where he was one of the famous travelers who spent a few days on a cruise, almost always played by great celebrities. He made a cameo appearance, as a lawyer, in Hollywood: Homicide , and provided the voice for his own cartoon in the series Family Guy .

Divorced in 2000 from his wife, Cynthia McMurray, Frank Sinatra, Jr. had only one son, Michael Sinatra, who is trying to make his way as an actor.
