In enviable physical shape, Frank Grillo has specialized in tough-guy roles in police series and films. Little by little, step by step, he has become a recognizable face, so that he is able to maintain an intense acting duel with Liam Neeson in White Hell .

Frank Anthony Grillo, the eldest of three siblings, was born in New York, United States, on June 8, 1963. Although with an athletic demeanor that made him dream of excelling in professional sports, it would be his hobby in high school, intervention in plays, which would become over time in his work dedication. And that Grillo, a man with a good head, graduated in business administration from New York University, even working on Wall Street. But his choice of a casting director for a beer commercial led him to become a commercials man, advertising products as varied as the American Express card.

His first important role as an actor was on the small screen, in the soap opera Guiding Light , broadcast between 1996 and 1999. At that time he was married to Kathy Grillo, with whom he had a son, but they divorced in 1998. He later married in 2000 with Wendy Moniz , his partner in the aforementioned series, with whom he has two children.

In the cinema, in 2002 he got involved in titles that at least sound like The Sweetest Thing and, above all, Minority Report , where he is a policeman who prevents crimes from the future, under the direction of Steven Spielberg himself . His good physical shape, and his taste for boxing and martial arts, make him a suitable interpreter in police films or those that require endurance for action, so he is present in A Matter of Honor (2008), Al límite (2010) and Condemned Souls (2010), in addition to lively television series such as For the People , The Shield , Blind Justice , Prison Break ,The Kill Point and The Gates .

Grillo has been noticed, and the proof is that in 2012 he has announced six projects, the first of which is the anguishing and fast-paced White Hell , where he is one of the survivors of a crashed plane in Alaska, the least supportive, and who with his companions are harassed by wolves. The actor, a friend of director Joe Carnahan , explains that he watched the movie Defense with Liam Neeson and the rest of the crew in preparation: “We wanted to see a bunch of guys who don’t really know themselves before they’re faced with some dire circumstances. . They are forced to transform. At the end of the movie, the hero may not be as brave, and the bad guy may not be as evil.” He has worked with Tom Hardyand Oscar nominee Nick Nolte in Warrior , and has such exciting titles in the pipeline as The Gangster Squad , with Ryan Gosling , and End of Watch , with Anne Hendrick.
