Frank Adonis

He has died at the age of 83, due to complications of kidney disease. Frank Adonis was the eternal secondary of gangster movies, for which he was recruited by teachers like Martin Scorsese.

Born in New York, and with an acting career in movies and sporadically on television that includes 40 credits, Frank Adonis’s particular physique made him ideal for gangster movies, and in general, the criminal world. This is how Martin Scorsese understood it above all , who counted on him for Raging Bull , Goodfellas and Casino . Although other heavyweights also claimed his services such as Tony Scott in Point Blank Love , Abel Ferrara in Corrupt Lieutenant or Sidney Lumet in Find Me Guilty. They were secondary roles, with few sentences, but they came to him like a glove.

Although he was required in hard-hitting films with a high dramatic content, including Oliver Stone ‘s Wall Street , he occasionally lent himself to films that caricatured his characters, such as the Jim Carrey comedy Ace Ventura, Pet Detective . He also made his first steps in directing films with a 1998 title, the little-known One Deadly Road
