- His parents were Italian immigrants who later returned to Rome when he was 3 years old. Then, when he was about 13 years old, his family moved back to Venezuela.
- Franco De Vita grew up in Rome and learned Italian before learning Spanish, which he only learned after his family returned to Venezuela from Italy.
- In 1982 he formed a group called Icaro which was able to release an album in his homeland.
- His song, Sólo Importas Tú , from his 2nd studio album, gained a lot of popularity and was used as the theme song for the Spanish-language romantic drama soap opera, La Dama De Rosa . Credited at the end of each episode, Franco De Vita performed the song on the piano.
