The talented Nigerian actor Francis Duru was born in Cameroon on July 27, 1969. He was born to Nigerian parents who hail from Imo State a southeastern part of Nigeria.

He had both his primary and secondary school education in Cameroon before relocating to Nigeria. His relocation to Nigeria was in order to obtain a B.Sc. degree.

However, he relocated to Nigeria where he applied to the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State and was accepted as an undergraduate to study Theatre arts. In 1996 he obtained a B.Sc. degree in Theatre Arts.

He began his career at the University of Port Harcourt but came to the limelight after graduating from the school. Since Francis Duru came to the limelight, he has starred in over 50 Nigerian movies and this aided in his fame and good net worth.

Wife and Children

Francis Duru got married to Adokiye Duru whom he met during his school days at the University of Port Harcourt. The duo both attended the University of Port Harcourt.

However, Duru and his wife Adokiye got married in 2003 and both have adorable children together.

Career

Francis Duru began his acting career while still at the University of Port Harcourt but he joined the Nigerian movie industry after obtaining a B.Sc. in Theatre Arts.

Duru debuted in the Nigerian movie industry in 1989 with a movie titled Missing Mark. The movie was directed by the late Ndubuisi Oko.  His feature in the movie did not do enough for his career as at the time he was still regarded as an up-and-coming actor.

He became more prominent professionally after starring in a Nigerian action comedy film titled Rattle Snake. The movie which was produced by Late Amaka Igwe in 1994 brought him to the limelight. However, the famous actor Francis Duru played a remarkable role in a character given to him.

Moreover, he played the important role of Ahanna in Rattlesnake alongside other famous actors like Stan Nze, Nkem Owoh, Stella Damascus, etc.

Ever since 1994 when he came to the limelight, the talented actor Francis Duru has remained in the limelight.

He is known for handling the roles of a police officer/inspector, notorious village lover, and many other interesting roles alongside other famous actors.
