The industry has produced several musical geniuses, who in turn have made a fortune from sharing their creativity with the World. It is imperative to note that the United Kingdom has been  Europe’s largest music market by revenues for several decades now, which in also makes the list applicable in term of the Richest musicians in Europe.

1. Paul McCartney

The Former Beatles Member, Paul McCartney is the richest musician in the United Kingdom, the song writer and bassist take the lead on the Forbes Richest Musician In 2022, with a Net Worth of $1.28 Billion.

Paul who is often referred to as one of the most successful composers and performers of all time, taught himself piano, guitar and songwriting as a teenager, having been influenced by his father,  who was Jazz Player and other performers such as Little Richard and Buddy Holly.

He began his career as a member of the Quarrymen in 1957, which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. After the Beatles disbanded, he debuted as a solo artist with the 1970 album McCartney and formed the band Wings with his first wife, Linda, and Denny Laine. He however resumed his career  as a solo artist in 1980.

Andrew who is often referred to by the media as the most commercially successful composer in history and one of the most powerful person in British culture began his career as a composer and impresario of musical theatre in 1965 at the age of 17. He has since then composed 21 musicals, a song cycle, a set of variations, two film scores, and a Latin Requiem Mass. Several of his musicals have run for more than a decade both in the West End and on Broadway.

He has received a number of awards, including a knighthood in 1992, followed by a peerage from Queen Elizabeth II for services to the Arts, six Tonys, three Grammys (as well as the Grammy Legend Award), an Academy Award, fourteen Ivor Novello Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Golden Globe, a Brit Award, the 2006 Kennedy Center Honors, the 2008 Classic Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, and an Emmy Award. The rocket man began his professional career in 1962 as a member of Bluesology. He left the band in 1967  and formed the Elton John Band  in 1970. Which evolve to be one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold over 300 million records worldwide in a six decade career in music,

His 1973 double album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and his 1974 Greatest Hits compilation album are among the best-selling albums worldwide. His tribute single “Candle in the Wind 1997”, a rewritten version of his 1974 single in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling chart single of all time.

Due to John’s contribution to the Music  industry and charitable services, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998, also the French President Emmanuel Macron presented John with France’s highest civilian award, the Legion d’honneur, in 2019. Mike who is often portrayed as a counter cultural and notorious figure, reportedly abandoned his studies at the  at the London School of Economics to join the Rolling Stones.  He left the band in 1985 and  began a solo recording career in 1985, releasing his first album, She’s the Boss and joined the electric supergroup Super Heavy in 2009.

In 1989, Jagger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 into the UK Music Hall of Fame with the Rolling Stones. 6. Keith Richards

Keith Richards, another member of the Rolling Stone joins the list with a Net worth of $340 Million, considered by many as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Just like Mick Jagger, Richard is also often portrayed a countercultural and notorious figure, and reportedly abandoned his studies at the Sidcup Art College to devote himself to music, and moved into a London flat with some members of the band. As a member of the Rolling Stones, Richards is the only member, aside from Jagger, to sing lead on some Stones songs. Richards typically sings lead on at least one song a concert. In 1989, Richards was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 into the UK Music Hall of Fame with the Rolling Stones. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him fourth on its list of 100 best guitarists in 2011.

42 year-old Dhani Harrison, with a net worth of 275 Million  takes the eight position on the list of on the Forbes list of the richest Musicians in the United Kingdom.  The Singer began his profession music career  after his father’s death in 2001, by assisting Jeff Lynne, in completing his father’s  final album, Brainwashed, which was released in 2002and went on to win a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance, in “Marwa Blues”, at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards in 2004.

He began his musical career with the Genesis Band in 1970 as their drummer and becoming lead singer in 1975 following the departure of Peter Gabriel. Just like almost everyone on the list Phil also pursued  a  solo career in the 1980s, which was inspired by his marital breakdown and love of soul music.

Despite just having  just eight studio albums in his discography, Phil collins have reportedly sold 150 million records sold worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists. He is one of only three recording artists, along with Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, who have sold over 100 million records both as solo artists and separately as principal members of a band

Tim Rice, A composer best known for his collaborations with Andrew Lloyd Webber, concludes the list with a Net Worth of $250 Million.

Tim began his career his professional music career, after he joined EMI Records as a management trainee in 1966. When EMI producer Norrie Paramor left to set up his own organization in 1968, Rice joined him as an assistant producer, working with, among others, Cliff Richard and The Scaffold.

As earlier stated Rice became famous for his collaboration with with Andrew Lloyd Webber, One of the most commercially successful composer in history. He also collaborated with Alan Menken and Elton John, on other project  including Aladdin (winning an Oscar Award for Best Original Song, Golden Globe and Grammy Award for Song of the Year for “A Whole New World” in 1992).

Rice was knighted by Elizabeth II for services to music in 1994.
