Kaká made his first senior appearance for São Paulo at the age of 19 on February 1, 2001.

He made his debut for AC Milan against Ancona in a 2–0 away win in a Serie A match on 1 September 2003.

The Brazilian playmaker turned to Real Madrid for the first time in the league on August 29, 2009 against Deportivo de La Coruña.
